Remembering Scarborough Fair Markets
For years, Scarborough Fair — opposite Observation City (now the Rendezvous Hotel) — was the only market on the Sunset Coast, letting visitors combine a famous beach with a market in one outing. It was small but known for quality: a large antiques wing with bric-a-brac, collectables and curios; a haberdashery and sewing centre; souvenirs and craft supplies; fashion, jewellery, surf gear and hippie wear; and services including body piercing, reflexology, tarot and massage, with good food outlets at each end. Scarborough Fair Markets have since closed.
