Beach and ocean sports
Scarborough's surf makes it a natural home for ocean sports. The Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club competes in surf boats, boards, skis, beach sprints and inflatable rescue boat (IRB/RIB) racing, and has hosted national championships. Surfing, bodyboarding and longboarding are popular year-round, and the afternoon sea breeze turns Scarborough and Brighton Beach into kitesurfing and windsurfing hotspots.
